A nice guy told me his Adventure Time #1 story yesterday at the Calgary Comics Expo and it is SUPER ADORABLE so I thought I’d share it.
So this guy, and I’ll call him Steve, goes into the comic shop on New Comics Wednesday as he normally does and picks up all the new comics he’s excited about.  He’s got a whole stack.  Then he goes to a mall to grab some lunch and is reading them when this little kid comes up and says “Excuse me, can I read some comics too?”
And come on, WHO COULD SAY NO TO THAT?
So Steve’s currently reading something like “SKELETON GHOSTS! IN MURDERTOPIA 3000” (maybe not a real comic but I’m kinda hoping it exists) and he doesn’t want to give the kid that book to read, so he flips through his stack and sees… ADVENTURE TIME #1.  So Steve passes this comic he hasn’t even read yet to the kid and the kid is SUPER EXCITED and goes over to show his mom.
Mom decides that she’d better flip through the comic first just in case, and starts reading it, and starts laughing out loud right there in the food court.  It might’ve been the first comic she’d read in years!  Steve waves at her and says “Hey, keep it!” and Mom and kid are SUPER HAPPY and this is the nicest thing ever and Steve is The Nicest Dude.
Anyway Steve goes back to his comic shop not one hour later to pick up another copy and the store is SOLD OUT and nobody else in town has it either!  He came by my booth to say that he hasn’t read the comic yet but a mom and a kid in the food court really liked it, so it’s probably AT LEAST pretty okay.
I wish I had some copies of it on me because I would’ve given him one, but I didn’t, so instead he got T-Rex Sticky Notes, the end!

This is an awesome story!
